Tver State Technical University - one of the oldest universities in the region, leading its history since 1922. University carefully cherishes its history and traditions, using a wealth of experience in research and educational activities for the benefit of the current generation of students.

In 2012, TSTU is celebrated its 90th anniversary. Despite its age, the University confidently entered the XXI century. Today TSTU is the largest center of education, science, technology and culture in the Upper Volga region.The university's teaching, research and production complex includes six full-time faculties, a correspondence faculty, Faculty of additional professional education and training, the faculty of international academic cooperation, Scientific institution, Graduate school, experimental and pilot production. The university has eight academic buildings.

The main value of the university - faculty.Scientific and educational work at the university is conducted by more than 80 professors, Doctors of Science and about 300 assistant professors,Candidates of sciences, including 15 full members and corresponding members of various academies of sciences, 18 honored workers of science and technology.

University responsive to labor market requirements and regularly opens new specialty: "Building Design", "Public Relations", "Urban Cadastre", "Safety of technological processes and production", "Socio-cultural service and tourism", etc. All in all. today, the university opened more than 50 specialties and areas of training students. Successfully developing international contacts for joint training and solving fundamental scientific problems with universities in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Finland, France, China and others states. According to scientifically grounded forecasts of the development of the labor market, the demand for specialists who have received higher professional education in TSTU will constantly increase.

Constantly improving the quality of education, the university is increasing material and technical base of the educational process. It offers students a spacious auditorium,  cozy reading rooms, modern computer classes, laboratories, equipped with the latest science and technology.The fund of the zonal scientific library is approaching 1 million volumes.

The university conducts an active scientific activity: teachers and students take part and take prizes in scientific and practical conferences and olympiads, publish their research in digests , organize conferences on the base of TSTU.

Modern higher education - is not only to obtain professional knowledge, it is also an all-round development of the future specialist. The university pays great attention to the development of the social sphere and the organization of extra-curricular activities of students. In TSTU created all conditions for the full development of the personality of the future specialist: a student club, a Center of student initiatives. The university has five gyms, ski base, summer sports camps;  TSTU operates numerous sports clubs. The university promotes the employment of its students during the years of study: in TSTU operate Relations Center with industry and student labor market.
